220K on factory rebuilt engine/trans, non-turbo 300D, no rust, everything works, blah blah blah ... $16,500 firm. Something tells me the steering wheel isn’t factory, but I can’t tell you why I think that.

That looks more like stock. When they were new they came, as far as I can recall, with this wheel (on a 300SD):

That actually looks like it belongs there, the other looks like it came from an early 90's merc.

Is it even worth 6 grand? More than half a million miles on everything except engine/tranny, and it’s a 35 year old car - sure it’s supposedly rust free, but really?

Yeah, once one thing is off from what they are saying I start to wonder what else isn’t right. I would have to say crack pipe on this.
